How to exclude taxes from product amount?

Step 1: Disable “Add Tax on Top” Setting in Shopify

1. Log in to your Shopify Admin Dashboard
2. Click Settings from the bottom-left corner
3. Select Taxes and Duties from the left sidebar
4. Scroll down to Global settings
5. Ensure “Include sales tax in product price and shipping rate” is unchecked
6. Save changes

This ensures Shopify does not calculate tax separately at checkout.

Step 2: Configure Tax Rates

If you want to update or verify tax percentages:

1. In Shopify Admin, go to Settings → Taxes and Duties
2. Under Tax regions, click on India
3. Scroll to Base taxes

Configure tax rates as follows:

• Enter X / 2 % for India
• Enter X % for All States
• For the state where your business is registered, enter X / 2 %

This setup ensures correct CGST/SGST or IGST calculation based on buyer location.
