How to reduce fake and returned orders?

This guide explains how to configure RTO features to control COD and Partial COD availability based on cart value, order history, customers, locations, and products.




Order & Cart Rules


Order & Cart Rules allow you to apply COD or Partial COD conditions based on cart value, item quantity, and customer order behavior.


Step 1: Open RTO Suite


Login to your FlexyPe dashboard and go to RTO Suite from the left sidebar.



Filter based on cart amount


Set minimum or maximum cart value conditions for COD or Partial COD.


  1. Click Filter based on cart amountAdd Rule
  2. Enter a Rule Name and define the minimum and/or maximum cart value




Rule Name is for internal reference only. Example: Partial COD above ₹2000


  1. Choose COD Settings (COD or Partial COD) and click Next
  2. Select how the Partial Amount should be charged:
  • Fixed amount
  • Percentage of order value (including or excluding COD charges)
  1. Enter the Partial Amount / Percentage
  2. Click Add to save the rule



Filter based on cart item count


Limit COD or Partial COD based on the number of items in the cart.


  1. Click Filter based on cart item countAdd Rule
  2. Enter a Rule Name and set minimum and/or maximum item count


Rule Name is for internal reference only. Example: Partial COD above 3 items


  1. Choose COD Settings and click Next
  2. Configure Partial Amount type and value
  3. Click Add to save the rule



Filter based on total COD order count


Restrict COD availability based on the total number of COD orders placed by a customer.


  1. Click Filter based on total COD order countAdd Rule
  2. Enter a Rule Name and define the COD order count limit


Rule Name is for internal reference only. Example: Block COD after 3 orders


  1. Choose COD Settings and click Next
  2. Configure Partial Amount if applicable
  3. Click Add to save the rule



Filter based on returned orders


Limit COD or Partial COD for customers with a return history.


  1. Click Filter based on returned ordersAdd Rule
  2. Enter a Rule Name
  3. Define:
  • Minimum number of returns
  • Time period for evaluation


Rule Name is for internal reference only. Example: Partial COD for high return users


  1. Choose COD Settings and click Next
  2. Configure Partial Amount if required
  3. Click Add to save the rule




Customer & Product Filters


Customer & Product Filters allow you to control COD and Partial COD for specific users, locations, products, or collections.


Step 1: Open RTO Suite

Login to your FlexyPe dashboard and go to RTO Suite from the left sidebar.



Filter based on user


Restrict COD availability for specific customers or customer groups.


  1. Click Filter based on userAdd Rule
  2. Enter a Rule Name
  3. Upload a CSV file containing customer contact numbers


Rule Name is for internal reference only. Example: Block COD for specific users



Click Download a sample file below the upload button to get the correct CSV format.


  1. Choose COD Settings and click Next
  2. Configure Partial Amount if applicable
  3. Click Add to save the rule



Filter based on pincode


Allow or block COD based on delivery locations.


  1. Click Filter based on pincodeAdd Rule
  2. Enter a Rule Name
  3. Upload a file containing PIN codes


Rule Name is for internal reference only. Example: Partial COD for selected pincodes


Click Download a sample file below the upload button to get the correct format.


  1. Choose COD Settings and click Next
  2. Configure Partial Amount if required
  3. Click Add to save the rule



Filter based on products


Apply COD rules for specific products.


  1. Click Filter based on productsAdd Rule
  2. Enter a Rule Name
  3. Browse and select products


Rule Name is for internal reference only. Example: No COD on high-value products


  1. Choose COD Settings and click Next
  2. Configure Partial Amount if applicable
  3. Click Add to save the rule



Filter based on collections


Apply COD rules to products within selected collections.


  1. Click Filter based on collectionsAdd Rule
  2. Enter a Rule Name
  3. Browse and select collections


Rule Name is for internal reference only. Example: Partial COD on premium collection


  1. Choose COD Settings and click Next
  2. Configure Partial Amount if applicable
  3. Click Add to save the rule
