Why am I taken to shopify default checkout?

During certain time periods, a small percentage of customers (around 2–3%) may get redirected to the Shopify default checkout instead of the FlexyPe checkout.

This percentage can vary depending on the underlying reason. Below are the most common causes:

Reasons for Redirection to Shopify Default Checkout

1) VPN Usage

If a customer is connected to a VPN set to an international location and proceeds to checkout, they may be redirected to the Shopify default checkout — especially if FlexyPe is configured only for domestic orders.

2) Corporate Firewall Restrictions

Some corporate or office networks block third-party domains, which can prevent redirection to the FlexyPe checkout.

3) In-App Browsers

Social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook use their own in-app browsers.

These browsers may sometimes interfere with checkout redirection.

4) Page Refresh Before Redirection

If the landing or cart page refreshes before the redirection process completes, the customer may be taken to the Shopify default checkout.

5) Slow Internet Connection

If the API call to initiate FlexyPe checkout times out due to a slow internet connection, the system may fall back to the Shopify default checkout.

These scenarios are generally user-environment dependent and may occasionally affect a small percentage of sessions.
